Thor: Love and Thunder is for many the highly anticipated upcoming movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s a sequel to New Zealand director Taika Waititi’s 2017 film Thor: Ragnarok, which was outrageously fun and packed with cool visuals, action and Waititi’s signature wacky humor.
But the movie’s biggest selling point, and the reason fans are really excited about it, is the presence of Mighty Thor. Not only does the film feature Chris Hemsworth as the Asgardian God of Thunder, but Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will also take on the identity of Thor and wield Mjolnir.
We saw Natalie earlier on set and she has a much more robust body. But this might be the first time we see what she’ll look like as Thor.

Photos have surfaced online that are supposedly promotional art. You can see for yourself what Hemsworth and Portman look like as God and Goddess of Thunder.
Portman has previously said that the film will feature elements from Mighty Thor’s famous storyline. While speaking with Yahoo, she said last year: ‘I can’t tell you much. I’m really excited. I start training, to gain muscle. If there could be all these female superheroes, the more there are, the better it is. I’m trying to think – it’s based on The Mighty Thor’s graphic novel. she continues cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side.”
Apart from these two, Love and Thunder has a veritable army of actors. It brings back some familiar faces from MCU, including Taiki Waititi, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Tessa Thompson and Jaimie Alexander. Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth and Melissa McCarthy will make guest appearances. In addition to these stars, Christian Bale will join the franchises as Gorr the God Butcher, the film’s villain, and Russell Crowe will play the role of Zeus, the Marvel character derived from the mythical Greek king of the gods.
Thor: Love and Thunder is slated for release on July 8, 2022
