Telugu superstar Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa the rise continues to make a profit in the Hindi belt. The film, starring Rashmika Mandanna, has raised almost Rs 3 crore on Monday, bringing the total collection of the Hindi version to more than Rs 65 crore.
If Pushpa holds steady at the box office, the film is expected to finish its third week in the Northern market with a total collection exceeding Rs 70 crore. It is a major achievement for the film, which was hardly promoted in Northern India and only had a limited launch in the region. While Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and Ranveer Singh‘s 83 the multiplex screens dominated, the single screens floated pushpas record-breaking cash register business. The film seemed to have found audiences that have developed a taste for the ‘masala’ movies from the south.
According to BookMyShow, the film sold a whopping five million tickets on its platform alone. The film is also said to draw crowds in South Indian states. The film will reportedly debut on Amazon Prime Video on January 7. It remains to be seen whether the movie’s theatrical performance will force the filmmakers to delay the OTT release or stick to their original plan.
Since SS Rajamouli’s RRR won’t be out on January 7, the film has a free period to make a profit until the new releases arrive at the box office for the Sankranti holiday. Recently, the makers of Pushpa revealed that the film was more than deserved Rs 300 crore from worldwide ticket sales, making it the biggest earner of 2021 in India.
