Set against the backdrop of the Seshachalam forests in Andhra Pradesh, Pushpa: The Rise tells the story of the journey of a truck driver Pushpa Raj, who is involved in the smuggling of red sandalwood trees.

Funded by Mythri Movie Makers, Pushpa: The Rise starred Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead while Fahadh Faasil played the antagonist who will play a pivotal role in the second part of the film. Sunil, Ajay Ghosh, Rao Ramesh, Dhanunjay and Anasuya Bharadwaj played other pivotal roles in the film.
