Veteran actor Sathyaraj, who rose to fame across the country after playing Katappa in the Baahubali franchise, was recently admitted to a private hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.
Over the past week, several actors have shared on their social media accounts that they have tested positive for Covid-19. On Sunday morning, Vishnu Vishal took to his Twitter account and shared that he started 2022 by testing positive for Covid-19. “Guys yes I am covid +ive… Anyone who has come in contact with me in the past week please pay attention. Horrible body aches and nasal blockage, itchy throat and also a slight fever. Looking forward to getting back up soon snap,” he tweeted.
Trisha on Friday said she had tested positive for coronavirus ‘a little before’ new year.
“Despite taking all precautions and safety precautions, I tested positive just before the new year. Name the symptoms, I had it. Although it was one of my most poignant weeks, I am recovering and feeling better today. Thanks to my vaccinations. I ask everyone to do the same and put on a mask. Hoping to clear my tests and fly back home soon. My sincere thanks to the best family and friends I have and for all the prayers,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor, Mahesh Baboo, Thaman S and many others tested positive for Covid-19 and are currently in self-isolation.
India reported more than 1.5 lakh daily infections for the second straight day, bringing the active caseload to 5,90,611. According to the Union Ministry of Health, the country recorded 1,59,632 new Covid-19 cases and 327 deaths in the past 24 hours, ending 9am on Sunday. Daily positivity was 10.21 percent.
