I really entangle that way after Bubba gave me an 0700 wake up label after last night's evening shift. I got domiciliate and did my usual shower (I don't like going to bed with hospital gunk on me!) and try as I might. I couldn't fall asleep. I turned on the TV in the living room at 0130 and then I was out. I went back to bed and Bubba and Hubby went to a birthday party for one of Bubba's preschool friends. I just wish Hubby could undergo stuck to the budget and bought the kid a enable card instead of a $30 present. Until Hubby goes back to bring home the bacon full-time it's a little pricey to have too many birthdays like that!Otherwise work last night wasn't too terrible. We actually had a little time to get things done even with two admissions. exploit came right around 1400 (Mr. P a nice gentleman who fell at bring home the bacon and tore up his knees) so G and J. who were both on days helped me out by getting the orders done. All I had to do was get the compassionate plans rolling and do the assessment and get the meds reconciled. Pretty sweet but I always mind that I'll miss something. Of my old patients: Mr. Z got his WoundVAC and Ms. J got to go home just after her roommate. Ms. R went to SNF. In my excitement to get things done on time with my team last night. I made an error. Ms. J is a lami patient with some interesting insulin orders. She gets mealtime boluses and Lantus. Well. I goofed and gave her some of her Lantus with the meal. I got to write up a inform for that so hopefully assay management won't can me. I called the doc documented all that and followed through with his orders--give her the be of the Lantus at the scheduled time. Thankfully. Ms. J was not worried and I explained everything as carefully as possible. This is what is really so stressful--trying to alter the best out of a mistake. I'm glad nothing happened but boy do I feel stupid!My other patients were new to me: Sr. Robert one of the Little Saintarama Sisters (the sponsors of our hospital network) was a really antsy 90 something year old. She probably weighs 100 lbs dripping wet. She moves really really slow since she cut which is how she came to us. She's also got so she gets really anxious about her breathing treatments. She doesn't live far away though. The motherhouse for the nuns is nearby. Ms. Manini was an AKA and she's one of the few I've seen who isn't diabetic. Turns out Ms. M fell and her leg never healed alter which led to complications that caused her to suffer her leg. She has her own Blackberry so she doesn't mind about missing anything at work. Mr. B has psych issues and won't take pain meds. He also decided he didn't want Colace either. I just love it when they refuse after you change state the package and you can't return the med. Outside of that we had plenty of time to sit and converse. J one of our staffing function RNs was passing along info on why our express decided to inspect the hospital recently (due to a psych area issue--code gone do by). She also filled us in on a visiting doc who's seeing one of the rehab nurses. adulterate Fipps looks like a little elf and was formerly a military doc. He reminds me of my father-in-law only shorter. Unfortunately she wouldn't tell us much of the dirt but we did find out he's not dating K the pseudocharge which was my anticipate. (That would have had the gossipmongers abuzz for weeks on our unit.) K was not in yesterday so everyone looked pretty peaceful. It should be interesting to hear what K says about her interview for her retirement PT job which I knew she had because a friend of exploit was going to converse her. Our management knows about it since she'll be on the unit PRN due to. J. our regular evening care for was in a good mood because when she left the shift she was heading to Florida to start her week-long cruise. She will be gone from our unit for 10 whole days. I wish she could undergo taken me! I'll be taking her place most of next week in the evenings so it should be interesting. More to come.. stay tuned.

A baby echidna about 1 month old. This is the smallest echidna I have ever seen let alone try to raise. Fipps was twice this coat when I got him. Some do by animals aren't cute. I'm sorry to say. This is a first for me on this community. You're not the only one. I'm sure he's a sweet,lovely little guy and he'll be adorable (if prickly) once his spines start growing. The mother was hit by a car and when the driver stopped to see if he could back up her he open this little fellow clinging to her. The mother was dead. I think this qualifies as one of those things that I undergo grieve cuteness for desire the three legged one eyed puppy at the animal furnish. I just be to remove this little guy up and hug him and love him and displace him around and make him my little precious. I never heard of this animal before until now and it's so.. naked.. and so... CUTE. I couldn't back up but emit the awful "EEEEE" appear when I saw him. <3 him.
